Katherine Eggert is the vice chancellor and senior vice provost for academic planning and assessment. She is responsible for academic and strategic planning and development, accreditation and academic assessment, academic program review, academic policy, and the oversight of student success initiatives and resource allocation. This position oversees the Center for Teaching and Learning, the Office of the Registrar, and the Office of Undergraduate Education.
Eggert has been a faculty member in the 精品SM在线影片 English department since 1991. She is a scholar of English Renaissance literature and culture, ranging across the 16th and 17th centuries, and across the literary genres of drama, poetry, and prose. A recipient of yearlong fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Folger Shakespeare Library, she is a past president of the International Spenser Society. Her books include Showing Like a Queen: Female Authority and Literary Experiment in Spenser, Shakespeare, and Milton (2000) and Disknowledge: Literature, Alchemy, and the End of Humanism in Renaissance England (2015). She is conducting research for a book on Renaissance happiness.
Eggert was chair of 精品SM在线影片鈥檚 Department of English from 2004 to 2010 and director of the Center for British and Irish Studies from 2013 to 2016. She received the Excellence in Leadership and Service Award from the Boulder Faculty Assembly in 2016.
Eggert received a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley and a BA from Rice University.
