Good afternoon, Future Buffs! Classes are underway and campus is bustling with activity. Autumn is an exciting time in Boulder: the Buffs face-off against rivals at Folsom Field, the leaves begin to change and the weather remains beautiful and warm. CU students take full advantage of the weather and spend time outdoors, with friends and around our beautiful community. Here are just a handful of recommendations this fall; Boulder has countless opportunities for fun!
Walk the Boulder Creek Path
Boulder Creek Path, located in central Boulder, boasts beautiful views and is very popular among CU students. More often than not, you will find runners, walkers and bikers along the path enjoying the weather.
Hike Chautauqua Park
CU students are forever grateful for their unique backyard: Chautauqua Park! A five minute walk from central campus, Chautauqua Park offers dozens of hiking, biking and climbing trails for adventurers of all abilities. Spend an afternoon exploring, hiking and soaking up the beautiful scenery, especially during the months of September and October!
Explore Rocky Mountain National Park
Though not technically located in Boulder, Rocky Mountain National Park is only a thirty-minute drive from CU! Drive through Estes Park and stop into the Stanley Hotel, known for both its unique and eerie history. Continue exploring through the park and spend an afternoon hiking and photographing wildlife. During the autumn months, the foliage is unbeatable!
Watch Ralphie and the Buffaloes win at Folsom Field
Never Stop Rising, Future Buffs! CU students love tailgating and attending football games right on campus. The Colorado Buffaloes were ranked first in the Pacific-12 Conference last season and hope to maintain the title during the 2017 season. Don鈥檛 miss our beloved mascot, Ralphie, run the length of the football field before each half!
Spend a Saturday morning at the Boulder Farmer鈥檚 Market
Boulder boasts one of the best Farmer鈥檚 Markets around! With dozens of food and artistic vendors, you will have a hard time tearing yourself away on any given Saturday. The Farmer鈥檚 Market is open on Saturdays until November 18 each season.
Shop and eat locally
According to Bon Appetit Magazine, in 2010 Boulder was named America鈥檚 鈥淔oodiest鈥 Town! One could spend an entire week dining at various bistros, restaurants and cafes located across Boulder. Pearl Street Mall offers a wide selection of restaurants, cafes and boutiques. CU students have so many options, they begin budgeting out听of habit.
We hope that you have the opportunity to visit our beautiful town of Boulder this fall! Schedule a tour of campus and dine at one of the many restaurants in town, hike the Flatirons and cheer on the CU Buffs. We鈥檙e excited to see you soon!
