Brennan Coffey is a junior studying applied math and chemical engineering, and currently works in聽聽on polymer diffusion at a solid-liquid interface.聽 He has also worked for three summers at Caltech's Jet Propulsion Laboratory on various aspects of OCO, which is a satellite designed to measure the carbon dioxide in the atmoshpere.聽 In both of those projects, he been tasked with computationally studying diffusion (CU) or spectroscopy, astrodynamics and data validation (JPL). "As a result all of my work requires a strong mathematical foundation," says Coffey. "This is where I enjoy applying the theory and methods that I have learned in my applied math courses."聽
Please join Applied Math in congratulating Brennan on this accomplishment!
