There exist correlations of quantum systems for which no "local realistic" model can describe the statistics of measurement outcomes. These correlations have been confirmed in many experiments, but these confirmations are still subject to various loopholes. Because quantum correlations can be exploited for additional security in various protocols such as private key exchange and randomness expansion, we seek experiments that provide strong, loophole-free certificates against all local realistic models.聽 I will give a conceptual introduction to the probabilistic properties of local realism and the sought-after quantum correlations and describe how statistically-quantified certificates can be obtained.
