Congratulations to Chu May Paing, who successfully defended her MA paper! Titled "Worldmaking Media: A Review on Anthropology of Mediation and the Case of Myanmar,” the paper was written in the style of a three-act play that explores different processes of mediation as partaking in the phenomenon of worldmaking. For the case of contemporary Myanmar, Chu highlights the role of images as breaking the dichotomies of past/future, public/private, state/citizens, and community/corporate.
