  Program Overview

The Bachelor of Arts in Art Practices (ARTS) at ¾«Æ·SMÔÚÏßӰƬ allows students to explore their interests and refine their skills in ceramics, Integrated Media Arts Practices/ IMAP (photography, digital media, video, integrated arts), painting and drawing, printmaking, and sculpture and post-studio practice. Students gain a broad understanding of the field of contemporary art and experience in contemporary art practices while pursuing a liberal arts degree at the university.

We are committed to the practice, production, critical and historical study of art within a liberal arts education that encourages experimentation and independence of thought. Our faculty offers a rigorous curriculum that crosses disciplines and invites inquisitive, dedicated students with wide-ranging interests, encouraging creative investigation as an essential skill informed by the highest standards of critical thought. Our diverse faculty, students, and staff are committed to ongoing engagement with communities locally and globally.


Admission Requirements

Transfer Recommendations

To graduate in a 4-year time frame, it is important that students follow the recommended schedule. Students who wish to continue their education at the community college beyond the number of credits specified below should explore with both community college and ¾«Æ·SMÔÚÏßӰƬ staff how their graduation timeline, COF stipend, and financial aid will be affected.


Suggested Four-Year Course Plan for the Art Practices (ARTS) major

This is a suggested guide of coursework only and is subject to change. Always consult your academic advisor for graduation planning purposes. Depending on a student’s situation, a different plan might be more applicable.

Your community college must offer an Associate of Arts degree with Designation (DwD) in Studio Art to use this transfer guide. 

Portfolio submission is NOT required to declare Art Practices as a Bachleor of Arts major, but a portfolio and other materials would be required to be admitted to the Bachleor of Fine Arts program.
