Assistant Professor听Stephen Voida听conducts empirical, design, and systems research in the areas of personal informatics and personal information management, with a focus on developing tools that help people to collect, interpret, and reflect on the data streams they create and the digital artifacts they encounter on an everyday basis. He also uses these data to study phenomena like multitasking, interruptions and mobile knowledge work.
Voida鈥檚 research has been recognized with best paper awards and supported by Google Research, NSF and a CRA Computing Innovation fellowship. His work has appeared in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, Lifehacker.com and on the APM Marketplace Tech Report. Dr. Voida holds a PhD in computer science and a MS in human鈥揷omputer interaction from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He was previously at Indiana University, Indianapolis and has held positions at Cornell; University of California, Irvine; University of Calgary; IBM T.J. Watson Research Center; PARC; Microsoft; and Boeing Commercial.
