PhD Student Awarded Climate Change Fellowship

Jackson Webster, a PhD student in civil, environmental, and architectural engineering, has been awarded a George Melendez Wright Climate Change Fellowship in the amount of $20,000 from the National Park Service to study the distribution of mercury in Mesa Verde National Park in southwestern Colorado. His ongoing research with CU鈥檚 Joseph Ryan and the U.S. Geological Survey鈥檚 George Aiken focuses on mercury transport from forest soils following wild fire. This research is funded by the National Science Foundation as part of collaboration with the Mountain Studies Institute in Silverton, Colorado, and the University of Illinois Chicago.
