Growing Up Boulder

Jing Liu is a graduate student in the Masters of the Environment (MENV) program, with aÌýspecialization in sustainability planning and management at the University of ColoradoÌýBoulder. Her interests focus on urban design and planning, community engagementÌýand youth education. Jing enjoys spending her free time skiing, campingÌýand spending timeÌýwith her family and friends. She currently worksÌýwith Growing Up Boulder (GUB) to develop a bilingual, child-friendly city map, compile a child-friendly city toolkit and create a teen-friendly city map. She believes that children and teenagers should have their voices and opinions considered in the urban planning process since their perspectives are often unique and unbiased. As aÌýGUB intern, Jing feels responsible to encourage and empower young people to be active participants in their communities and to raise their social awareness and responsibilities at anÌýearly age.
