Omar De La Mora is a senior in the听Program in Environmental Design (ENVD),听with an emphasis in architecture. He is interested in bioclimatic building design听and the relationship between the built environment and the听constantly changing environmental climate. Omar also works听part-time as a Big Mountain ski coach for Team Summit Colorado,听where he developed a passion for engaging with youth. He听currently is working听with Growing Up Boulder (GUB) to develop a child-friendly city map that encourages children听to explore their cities听through child-friendly designs. The project involves听working with several preschool and elementary students to develop听plans, designs听and ideas for walkable neighborhoods throughout Boulder. As听a GUB intern, he hopes to learn how to further involve local youth听in听building designs. 听
