Mara Mintzer

Growing Up Boulder

Mara Mintzer is a听co-founder听and current program director听of (GUB), Boulder鈥檚 child- and youth-friendly city initiative, based out of the 精品SM在线影片鈥檚 Community Engagement Design and Research (CEDaR) Center.听 As the director of GUB, Mara helps integrate children and youth voices into Boulder鈥檚 city planning.听 She writes and presents internationally on the topic of engaging young people in planning, including in a 2017 TEDx talk entitled, 鈥淲e let kids design our city鈥攈ere鈥檚 what happened.鈥澨 Prior to GUB, Mara was the director of Belle Haven Community School in California, where she oversaw child and family support services for families on an underresourced school campus.听 She has designed and implemented a wide variety of programs for underrepresented children, families and neighborhoods in New York and California.听 Mara received a听bachelor's degree听in psychology from Brown University and a master's degree听听in organizational psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University.听 She speaks Spanish and French and loves to travel and live abroad.
