German Language Tutor
Job Description
ALTEC seeks a German language tutor to support German language students at ¾«Æ·SMÔÚÏßӰƬ. Tutors work under the supervision of one of the staff members of ALTEC; they are responsible and committed to students’ learning progress. Tutoring is based out of The HIVE @ALTEC (CASE E380). Tutors typically work 5-10 hours per week, Monday-Friday during the 2024-2025 academic year. Work hours can be adjusted to meet availability and language needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist students with study strategies, organization of materials and course content comprehension
- Facilitate the students’ learning progress by promoting a collaborative and interactive learning experience
- Provide end-of-semester report
Requirements:
- Native speaker or highly proficient in the language interested in tutoring
- Studying at the graduate level
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills:
- Respectful & professional interactions with students in person, remotely via Teams/Zoom, on the phone and via email.
- Positive, enthusiastic attitude.
- Graduate students with a 50% appointment may be eligible for this position with permission from their department graduate advisor.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation for this role is $18.54 hourly. Sick leave is available for this position. Additional information can be found on the human resources website.
