Alex is currently the Chief Strategy Officer of Virridy LLC, as well as a Planning Commissioner for Hood River County Oregon, the managing member of a two-state family farming LLC and the owner/operator of a small orchard and timber property. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Duke University and has spent nearly two decades developing and managing energy and water commodities markets in the United States.
Prior to his role at Virridy, Alex spent 12 years working for The Freshwater Trust (TFT) in Portland, OR, most recently as the VP of Initiatives. TFT is an innovative river restoration nonprofit that is a national leader in developing environmental markets to restore and protect Western US watersheds.
Additionally, Alex is a member of the Local Advisory Committee for Hood River’s Agricultural Water Quality Management Plan and a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum of Oregon. He was previously a Coordinating Team Member for the Boise River Enhancement Network and a Supply Chain Analyst for a subsidiary of Morgan Stanley. Lastly, Alex is a partner in a permaculture farm in western Ecuador that focuses on sustainable agriculture and agroforestry.
