鈥淢ulticultural Percussion Music,鈥� an article written 产测听Geary Larrick聽(DMus鈥�84), was published in the spring 2013聽National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors (NACWPI) Journal. Since 1968 he has written 80 articles and reviews for the journal, which can be found in the periodicals collection in the University of Colorado Music Library. Geary is a retired assistant professor of music at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.

On Feb. 12聽Geary Larrick聽(DMus鈥�84) performed a Black History Month program on solo marimba in Stevens Point, Wis., where he lives as a retired music professor of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He writes that his latest work was a review of Angela Smith鈥檚 book聽Steel Drums and Steelbands: A History, which appeared in the December 2013 issue of 迟丑别听Music Educators Journal.

鈥淭he Rowdy Mermaid鈥� sounds like an interesting book or a funny nickname, but in reality it is a Boulder kombucha restaurant inspired by owner聽James Dunn鈥檚 (Geog鈥�84) daughter. James opened the store after he saw a need for a caffeine-free kombucha drink that children, including his own, could drink. The store is one of the first kombucha taprooms worldwide, and CU-Boulder alumni receive a 15 percent discount.

Photographer and graphic artist聽Rob Decker聽(Comm) of Nederland, Colo., fell in love with the designs used by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in the 1930s and 鈥�40s. Combining his artistic abilities with his interests in national parks, he has begun designing graphic art posters about national parks in the WPA style. He calls it the National Park Poster Project.
