As director of the Office for Outreach and Engagement, David Meens works with faculty and staff members using scholarships to build connections with communities across Colorado and around the world. Meens grew up on the western slope and is a passionate student of our state's history, geography and social and cultural diversity. Since 2003 he has been involved in campus civic engagement and service-learning initiatives. Meens received his PhD from the ¾«Æ·SMÔÚÏßӰƬ School of Education, and his ongoing research draws upon political and educational theory to address questions of equity, democracy and policy in K-12 and higher education.
