This course covers fund accounting at a very high level. This includes聽the most common fund types we use at CU, the sources and uses of the money in these different funds, and some of the restrictions on the use of these funds based on the source.
This course introduces the systems used to record the financial impacts of the university鈥檚 operations. Each system is specialized and necessary, yet not sufficient on its own to fulfill our stewardship obligations.
The Campus Controller鈥檚 Office is offering two initial courses as part of the new financial onboarding and training program:聽CU: Accounting Overview and CU: Financial Systems Overview.
These courses are designed to meet the needs of new university staff and staff members new to a financial role.聽The goal is to help employees understand their fiscal roles and responsibilities through financial training to continuously improve our financial processes.聽
