A message from Katrina Spencer
With year-end activities kicking into high gear, I am reflecting on how grateful I am for colleagues across campus. Your efforts and engagement in an incredible number of major projects is truly astounding: the budget model redesign, pay equity, ICR transparency project, BRIDGE, capital planning; the list goes on. All of this doesn’t even touch the everyday work you do: paying bills, purchasing, ensuring compliance, administering grants and contracts, completing journal entries, and the hundreds of other things you do to keep our university running. What can I say but thank you?
I'm optimistic as we begin to set our sights on fiscal year ‘23. Last week the Board of Regents approved the 2022-23 budget, which highlights the fiscal resiliency of our campus. As we move into the new fiscal year, I am especially looking forward to engaging with stakeholders throughout campus to improve communication, provide better tools, and, most importantly, listen to the needs and priorities that are top of mind for you.
I continue to be inspired and humbled by the collective efforts of ¾«Æ·SMÔÚÏßӰƬ’s budget and fiscal community. In this month’s newsletter, you’ll find information on scholarships for professional development opportunities, in addition to other timely, useful and actionable information to help you be successful.
We in the Campus Controller’s Office and the Budget and Fiscal Planning Office are standing by to help in any way we can. In the midst of this busy season, please make time to care for yourselves.
I truly appreciate the opportunity to work with you all.
Warm wishes,
Katrina Spencer, Deputy Chief Financial Officer
