Letters & Documentation
Appointment Verification
If you visit Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) for a screening or scheduled appointment, you may receive appointment verification upon request.
Accommodations Documentation
If you are looking for a letter documenting symptoms, diagnosis or providing support for accommodations, please consult with your provider early on. This process can take several months to complete.Â
CAPS does not write specific ESA letters. Providers are unable to make a recommendation for an animal or sign any documentation that states the animal is required for the student to adequately function.Â
Class Excuse Letters
Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) cannot provide excuse letters for classes.Â
Letters of Support for Gender Affirming Care
Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) can provide letters of support and other documentation for trans students who are looking to transition, including hormone therapy and surgery. Please schedule an appointment with our TransCare team through your MyCUHealth portal.
