I am looking for a PhD student to start as early as Fall 17 or Winter 18 (January 2018).

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the University of California, Los Angeles, is seeking PhD applicants to work under the guidance of 听on projects related to designing of resilient stormwater treatment systems to mitigate surface and groundwater pollution, and quantifying the effect of climate change on water quality. The research will involve geochemistry, environmental microbiology, and electrochemistry.听

Ideal candidates possess an M.S. degree in civil and/or environmental engineering, chemical engineering, biological and/or agricultural engineering, or related science fields including chemistry and biology, but post-baccalaureate candidates with significant achievements in undergraduate research will also be considered. Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team are required.
