Welcome to the聽Laboratory of Interfaces, Flow, and Electrokinetics (LIFE) in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at CU-Boulder.聽

The Gupta research group鈥攌nown as the Laboratory of Interfaces, Flow and Electrokinetics (LIFE)鈥攅mploys theoretical, numerical, and experimental methods to study transport phenomena in electrochemical, microfluidic, and biophysical systems. Their research aims to illuminate the underlying principles governing these systems, leading to advances in energy storage technologies, miniaturized lab-on-a-chip devices, and the development of next-generation autonomous material. Our work has been covered in popular press with over 140 news articles, including CNN, The Daily Mail, Newsweek, Discover Magazine, Knowable Magazine, Popular Mechanics, Chemical and Engineering News, Al Jazeera and many others.聽

The details of our specific projects are provided in聽our聽research聽section. We also invite you to check out our publications.聽If you are interested in collaborating, please feel聽free to reach out to us over email.聽

Open Positions: We are always looking for enthusiastic graduate students and undergraduate students who are interested in solving challenging problems in chemical engineering. Interested students聽should write to ankur.gupta@colorado.edu.
