Abstract:

This week鈥檚 colloquium is a book launch event hosted by听the Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. Radical Cartographies听substantive chapters are written by Indigenous and Afro-descendent authors. Shedding light on the innovative uses of participatory mapping emerging from Latin America鈥檚 marginalized communities, this diverse collection reconceptualizes what maps mean as representations of identity and place.
