Our goal is to co-recruit junior faculty with synergistic interests to build interdepartmental connections via cellular/molecular, physiological, and behavioral neuroscience. Each department brings their own distinctive scholarly strengths: 1) reproduction, development, and aging for IPHY; 2) neural basis of behavior and tools to image and manipulate the brain for PSYC/NRSC, and 3) neurodevelopment and neurological disorders using cellular and molecular technologies for MCDB. Underlying these themes is an emphasis on genetics from model systems to human, mechanistic foundations of neurocognition during fetal and adolescent development to adult, and advanced imaging technologies and manipulation of brain development and wiring. We encourage cutting edge and collaborative research that transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries.</p><p>Starting salaries are expected to fall within the posted range of $95,000-$120,000 (9-month salary) depending upon accomplishments including publication record, external funding, years of experience in comparable faculty positions, and discipline. The start-up package is negotiable, and the candidate may be eligible for moving expenses.</p><p>Applicants are required to hold a doctoral degree (PhD, MD/PhD, or DPhil) in a life science discipline which includes, but is not limited to, neuroscience, biology, genetics, psychology and physiology. Accomplishments during graduate and postgraduate training should have stamped the candidate as a creative and promising investigator. If the individual does not have formal teaching experience, they should have demonstrated a commitment to develop the skills for first rate teaching. A hire in this area could conduct health-oriented research in areas such as aging and neurodegenerative disease, cardiovascular and metabolic disease, infectious disease, or environmental and occupational health.
