David Shneer, Louis P. Singer Endowed Chair in Jewish History听and Professor of History, Religious Studies and Jewish Studies,听had a busy summer of globetrotting. 听He served as scholar-in-residence for the 听that took students to Belarus, Lithuania, and Latvia.听Next year, he plans to open a competition for a fellowship to support at least one CU student to participate in the study program, so stay tuned for more information. 听

Following that, he gave a talk at the International Slavic Studies conference in Makuhari, Japan, about his new book project, Grief: The History of the World鈥檚 First Holocaust Liberation Photograph and the Man Who Took It, and will be presenting a paper on the subject at USC鈥檚 Casden Institute on听Wednesday, September 9. 听
