CHA - Jewish Studies Post-Holocaust American Judaism Summer Fellowship

Open to CUÌýBoulder Graduate Students

The Center for Humanities and the Arts and the Program in Jewish Studies annually award theÌýCHAÌý– Jewish Studies Post-Holocaust American Judaism Summer Fellowship, which provides a $4,000 fellowship to a ¾«Æ·SMÔÚÏßӰƬ graduate student for the summer. The Fellowship requires 130 hours of work over the summer (or approximately 13 hours per week to be allocated in whatever way works best for the student’s and supervisor’s schedules) in the CU Post-Holocaust American Judaism Collections. The Fellow will work with librarians and archivists on projects such as researching, designing, and curating exhibits, digital humanities initiatives, and other programs based on archival materials. For students interested in American history or Jewish Studies, a portion of the required 130 hours may also be devoted to original research drawing on archival materials. CU graduate students from all disciplines in the arts and humanities are welcome to apply; preference will be given to candidates with experience and/or interest in Jewish Studies, European or American history and culture, and/or archival work. Competency in foreign languages would be useful and should be mentioned in an application, although this is not a prerequisite for application.

  • a letter of application describingÌýyour current research interests, any relevant experience or academic studies, as well as your interest in working in the archiveÌý(500 word maximum)
  • the name and email address of your primary advisor, whom we may contact

  • You can access the ScholarshipÌýApplication through the Buff Portal by selecting "Scholarships" under the Finances tab.
  • In the Scholarship Application, please search for the name of the Jewish Studies scholarship you wish to apply for.
  • Students applying for Jewish Studies scholarships areÌýrequired to submit the General Scholarship Application in order to be eligible for all other university scholarships as well.
