Caleb has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University, and a PhD in Environmental Engineering at 精品SM在线影片 (2021). His interests and future aspirations lie at the interface of research, practical action and policy regarding professionalized rural water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services in low-income聽contexts. He was co-advised by both Dr. Karl Linden and Dr. Amy Javernick-Will. His doctoral thesis research was part of the USAID Sustainable WASH Systems Learning Partnership, helping coordinate the research theme on preventive maintenance across Uganda,聽Kenya and Ethiopia. He investigated聽institutional and environmental conditions which enable or hinder rural water utilities across contexts in sub-Saharan Africa, in an effort to identify pathways leading to successful,聽sustainably maintained water infrastructure. He spent over 9 months working alongside organizations who provide rural water services in Uganda.聽Caleb also worked for NGO Water for People for 1.5 years聽in both Denver, Colorado, and in Uganda.聽
