Detailed Summary
Project Dates: Summer 2014
Approximately 20 low-cost monitors were deployed during the summer of 2014 to examine spatial variability of pollutants in a remote sensing-sized grid cell (~10x10 km). This deployment took place in rural/suburban Colorado, across some areas heavily impacted by oil and gas development. Other sources of methane included ranching. This deployment provided our first opportunity to collect a long-term data set with our low-cost monitors co-located with a high quality methane instrument (a Los Gatos Methane Analyzer, maintained by Penn State鈥檚 Native Trailer Team). This campaign was lead by NASA and NCAR among others, and the campaign included ground, air, stationary, and mobile measurements.
