Assistant Professor Joseph Kasprzyk has won the Early Career Research Excellence Award from the聽听(颈贰惭厂蝉).

Kasprzyk was recognized for his overall research efforts, which include an聽聽to provide a decision support framework for water treatment plants under climate extremes, as well as an聽聽for adopting a decision support system for water supply in the Front Range of Colorado. Kasprzyk also works with the聽, which seeks to better understand the local effects of unconventional oil and gas development.

The focus of the iEMSs is to develop and use environmental modelling and software tools to advance the science and improve decision making with respect to resource and environmental issues. They also aim to coordinate activities among physical, social and natural scientists, economists and software developers, and to improve the cooperation between the sciences and decision makers/advisors on environmental matters.

The Early Career Research Excellence Award is awarded every other year to a researcher who graduated with a PhD or equivalent within seven years of being nominated for the award. The awards ceremony will be held at the society鈥檚 upcoming conference in Toulouse, France. 聽
