Research Interests
鈥婤iomechanics, Neural Control of Movement, Motor Learning and Decision Making, Neuroeconomics
Ahmed's research focuses on understanding how the brain controls movement. She uses a neuroeconomic approach that combines techniques from听neuroscience, economics, psychology and engineering to investigate the costs听and constraints听underlying human sensorimotor decision-making, learning, and听control. Dr. Ahmed is the recipient听of an NSF CAREER Award and a DARPA Young听Faculty Award presented to 鈥渞ising research stars听in junior faculty positions听at U.S. academic institutions鈥. Her work has been featured in听Forbes,听Wired,听Time,听PBS, and other national and听international media outlets.
