The Master鈥檚 Qualifying Exam is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, April 2 and 3, from 9 a.m. until noon and 1:30-4:30 p.m. If you are graduating in December 2020, you must take the exam this semester. Contact the Graduate Studies Office by March 6 to reserve your place in the exam. If you have a conflict on that date, you must contact the Graduate Studies Office immediately to request an alternative time. After March 6, the Graduate Studies Office will no longer consider ad hoc exam dates.听
Before you can sign up to take your MQEs you must have:
- Your advisory committee confirmed and this form听submitted to the Graduate Studies Office.
- All preliminary exam deficiencies remediated.
- Language requirements complete (if required of your degree).
According to the Graduate Handbook, "Master's students must schedule their qualifying exam no later than the semester prior to that of intended graduation (i.e. in the fall semester for a spring/summer graduation). Questions are tailored to the area of concentration and to the individual student." Your exam will take 6 hours.
