Next space pioneers - Lunar robots in the works by ¾«Æ·SMÔÚÏßӰƬ undergrads
From the Daily Camera: University of Colorado Professor Jack Burns leads a laboratory on campus that he describes as a mash-up between Silicon Valley and the space program with the help of two undergraduate students he deemed "the next space pioneers."
Seniors Benjamin Mellinkoff and Matthew Spydell were hunkered down Wednesday in front of vast computer screens, with wrenches, screwdrivers and safety goggles hanging on the wall behind their monitors. A robotic arm sat at their feet. Near a window that overlooked Folsom Field, one of the lab's rovers — formerly a toy car stripped and souped up with cameras and new technology — is perched on a table. Mellinkoff and Spydell are in the space robot business.
