He is also Vice President Emeritus for Academic Affairs and Research for the CU System. Prof. Burns has 345 publications in refereed journals, books, and in conference proceedings and abstracts (as listed in NASA’s Astrophysics Data System). His research has been featured in articles and on the covers of Scientific American, Nature, and Science. His teaching and research focus on extragalactic astronomy and cosmology, supercomputer numerical simulations, astrophysics from the Moon, and public policy issues in higher education and science. Burns is director of the Lunar University Network for Astrophysics Research (LUNAR), a $6.5 million center recently awarded by the NASA Lunar Science Institute. Burns is an elected Fellow of the American Physical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. <a href="https://anchor.fm/scientificsense/episodes/Prof--Jack-Burns--Professor-of-Astrophysical-and-Planetary-Sciences-at-the-University-of-Colorado-in-Boulder-en9cui" rel="nofollow">Listen now.</a></p></div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <h2> <div class="paragraph paragraph--type--ucb-related-articles-block paragraph--view-mode--default"> <div>Off</div> </div> </h2> <div>Traditional</div> <div>0</div> <div>On</div> <div>White</div> Fri, 11 Dec 2020 21:17:40 +0000 Anonymous 1501 at /ness CubeSat to Blaze a Trail for Lunar Gateway /ness/2019/09/17/cubesat-blaze-trail-lunar-gateway <span>CubeSat to Blaze a Trail for Lunar Gateway</span> <span><span>Anonymous (not verified)</span></span> <span><time datetime="2019-09-17T10:02:04-06:00" title="Tuesday, September 17, 2019 - 10:02">Tue, 09/17/2019 - 10:02</time> </span> <div> <div class="imageMediaStyle focal_image_wide"> <img loading="lazy" src="/ness/sites/default/files/styles/focal_image_wide/public/article-thumbnail/an_artists_impression_of_capstone._tyvak_nano-satellite_systems_0.png?h=fa2a7162&amp;itok=smzS8qQe" width="1200" height="600" alt="An artist's impression of Capstone.
