NASA FINESST Proposals for Graduate Student Fellowships are due before 5 p.m. on February 11, 2022.

Guidance of the submission process can be found on OCG’s webpage for Fellowships and Student Research Grants. The PI is responsible for ensuring the student has prepared the appropriate documentation and must release the NSPIRES application prior to 5 p.m. OCG will not submit applications that are received after OCG’s standard business hours.

On August 16, 2021, NASA provided a memorandum to the NASA Contractor Community, including ��ƷSM��ӰƬ’s Office of Contracts and Grants (OCG) and researchers, outlining safety protocols for entering NASA facilities, consistent with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the White House Safer Federal Workforce Task Force.

Under the revised procedures, any contractors, who will work onsite at NASA facilities are required to complete a Certification of Vaccination Status, beginning Monday August 16. The procedures also provide guidance for wearing masks at NASA facilities. ��ƷSM��ӰƬ employees working on NASA funded contracts are considered contractors.

The memo states the procedures apply to “remote” contractors; however, this does not apply to any ��ƷSM��ӰƬ personnel working on NASA contracts unless they work onsite at a NASA facility. This interpretation has been confirmed with Dr. Azhar Rafiq in NASA’s Office of the Chief Health and Medical Officer.

Online Form for Submitting No-Cost Extensions (NCEs)

The Office of Contracts and Grants (OCG) has developed sponsor specific webforms for No-Cost Extension (NCE) requests. These forms ensure that OCG receives all of the information required to be able to submit a timely, complete and valid submission request per Sponsor requirements.

All NCE requests should be submitted to OCG through the webform. As the Authorized Organizational Representative, OCG is required to submit NCE requests to the Sponsor for all ��ƷSM��ӰƬ sponsored projects.

Once you submit the webform, OCG receives immediate notification of the NCE request for review and submission to the Sponsor. Your Grant or Contract Officer will review the submission, ensure all information and documents are complete and submit the request directly to the Sponsor.

At the time the webform is submitted to OCG, additional offices receive immediate alerts:

CCO receives notice to ensure that the SpeedType is not shut off
If applicable, IRB, IACUC or other offices are notified of the NCE request

Once OCG receives Sponsor approval for the NCE, your new end date becomes official in InfoEd and PeopleSoft.

NASA has updated their process and requirements for No-Cost Extensions. There are two specific changes that are significantly different than in the past.

All NASA No-Cost Extensions must attach the most recent progress report.
All requests must be submitted within 30 days prior to the last day of the Period of Performance. With this update, OCG can now only submit the request between 10 and 30 days prior to the last day of the Period of Performance on a NASA grant.

Please be aware that these restrictions are being enforced by NASA, and that the monitoring of these grants and there extensions will need to be closely followed for awards requiring an extension. Should you have any questions, please send an email to your Grant Officer or ocggrants@colorado.edu.
