Both my mother, brother and I all are from Chicago and went to ¾«Æ·SMÔÚÏßӰƬ. There was no pressure or intention to attend, yet we all unconsciously did. This posed the question of why we ended up here. By looking through my mom’s old college film, connecting it to my own and my freshman brother’s film, I looked to explore and answer that question. The finished product was a mix of film photo and video with interviews from my family. Through this, I grew an understanding of how similar our experiences have been and how similar we are to one another. Is it our family decides much of our life, or do we have some individuality? Through the age old practice of looking through photo albums and reminiscing, it also bought me closure and new family stories to tell.
