CU Psychology and Neuroscience Distinguished Professor Richard Jessor (Social) is retiring after 70 years of service, the longest-serving member of the ¾«Æ·SMÔÚÏßӰƬ faculty in history. As a young man, he was shaped profoundly by serving in Marines during World War II, including 4 weeks on the island of Iwo Jima. He was hired by the ¾«Æ·SMÔÚÏßӰƬ Psychology Department in 1951. Among his numerous contributions to CU, a major one was the co-founding of the in the late 1950s. He also served its director from 1980 to 2001.
