Charleen Gust and Angela BryanRecent Psychology and Neuroscience PhD student Charleen Gust (now a research associate at IBS) and her advisor Professor Angela Bryan (Social) were in the popular media, being interviewed for an article in the Daily Camera about the health benefits of practicing yoga. The research, the basis for Gust's dissertation, was conducted with the assistance of Monica Nabholz, who teaches group yoga classes at CU. Gust found that there were benefits to class participants after a single class, these benefits being emotion regulation, self-control, and distress tolerance among other things. These benefits went away after a week and only the one class, implying that the continuing practice of yoga is necessary for longer-term benefits. Read more about the research in the .
