    The Safer Main Streets Program has announced 30 different transportation project worth $58.9 million. A good portion of that will fund projects around the Boulder area. Most notably $2.1 million will go towards a project around Colorado Avenue. Colorado Ave between Regent Drive and to the east of the 28th Street (US 36) intersection will see improvements including pedestrian refuge islands, new crosswalk and bike lane markings, new southbound left turn lane on Colorado Avenue and an additional traffic signal.
