Michelle Albert is a Teaching Associate Professor in the Program for Writing and Rhetoric. She teaches lower and upper division writing classes, including WRTG 1100, WRTG 1150, WRTG 1160, and WRTG 3020. In her upper division class, Social Media and the Mind, students consider how phones and social media affect our mental health and well-being as well as learn about the persuasive technology that makes these devices so addictive.

Michelle has also taught in multiple bridge programs at CU to help incoming students acclimate to college life. She is an active volunteer with CU's Restorative Justice program and with the Boulder DA's office Restorative Justice program.

Michelle has an MFA in Writing and Poetics from Naropa University and an MA in English with a focus in Composition, Rhetoric, and Pedagogy from CU-Denver. She is originally from the Baltimore area. Outside of work, you can find her on the pickleball courts, on the trails, or playing with her pet bearded dragon named Jupiter.
