Greetings, catalog reviewers,

As previewed, we kicked off the workflows for academic program pages in the 2022–23 catalog last week. If you're first up in the workflow, you should have received an automated email for any page(s) ready for your review with a link to access your approval queue. (If you're set up to edit/approve catalog pages but not as the first reviewer, you'll receive an email as soon as those ahead of you in the workflow have completed their review and approved the page(s)).

For pages where you're updating curriculum information (e.g., program requirements, plans of study, learning outcomes), don't forget to:

  • Submit your curriculum edits through the . (The change type at the top of the form should be set to "Catalog.")
  • Approve both the catalog page and the corresponding CIM program revision from . (We recommend approving both at the same time.)

To learn more, see our process changes and known issues webpage.

We could also use your help ensuring that your program information was migrated correctly into CIM—if you notice content that is not displaying as expected, please reach out. We appreciate your patience during this transition!

Sign Up for a Catalog/Curriculum Training Session

As we mentioned in our last message, now that the catalog is fully integrated with our curriculum inventory management system (CIM), we're slightly delaying the initial unit/departmental review process so you can attend one of our vendor-led training sessions.

These sessions will provide a high-level overview of the curriculum update and approval process from the perspective of a catalog reviewer, including how to:

  • Locate curriculum records in CIM
  • Submit revisions for existing programs
  • Navigate CIM's automated review and approval workflow
  • Approve submitted revisions

We'll be meeting with our core user group this Wednesday, and we'll offer two one-hour trainings next Monday and Wednesday for all other catalog reviewers:

  • Monday, Nov. 1, 2–3 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2:30–3:30 p.m.

There's no attendance limit for each session, so please join us if you can! We plan to record one of the sessions and will try to have a link available the week of Nov. 8.

We're offering virtual catalog working sessions again this year, which are a great opportunity to get one-on-one training, troubleshooting and/or advice from a member of the catalog team. If this is your first year working on the catalog, we encourage you to sign up so we can give you a quick orientation.

We currently have several working sessions available during the first two weeks of November; click the button below to sign up. Additional sessions will be added in the coming weeks to provide support through the first review deadline (Friday, Dec. 17).

Updated Production Schedule

We'll be kicking off the workflows for academic program pages in the 2022–23 catalog starting on Monday, Nov. 1, with a target department/unit review deadline of Friday, Dec. 17.

Aside from the slight kickoff delay discussed above to accommodate the vendor-led trainings, the production schedule will follow the same framework as last year.

Greetings, catalog reviewers,

Welcome to the start of the 2022–23 catalog production cycle!

Before we open the catalog for edits, we need your help updating the workflows for your catalog pages. Please submit a workflow revision request by Thursday, Oct. 21, if both statements are true:

  • You've had staffing or other changes that affect who should review your program or policy content in the catalog, and
  • Your revisions aren't for CMCI, Education or CEAS. Those workflow revisions are being coordinated by Cindy White, Travis Anderson, and Mary Steiner (CEAS undergraduate pages) and Meredith Canode (CEAS graduate pages), respectively.

If needed, you can email catalog@colorado.edu to request a breakdown of current workflow configurations for your page(s).

New Curriculum Integration & Training Opportunities

As many of you are aware, this will be the first catalog to feature program content that's fully integrated with our curriculum inventory management system (CIM). The last phase of that project, commonly referred to as CIM for programs, wrapped up a few short weeks ago.

To make sure you're comfortable with the new integration, we're slightly delaying the start of program page review so you can attend our vendor-led training sessions. Currently slated for the week of Oct. 25, we'll let you know as soon as these virtual sessions are available for sign-up!

We’ll also continue to offer our virtual catalog working sessions, which are a great opportunity for you to get one-on-one training, troubleshooting and/or advice from a member of the catalog team. We plan to post that schedule in early November.
