The Research & Innovation Office announced that Joe Dragavon, PhD, has been named interim director of , effective February 1.听

Since the departure of the previous director, Claudius Mundoma, Dragavon has played an instrumental role in maintaining the momentum of the university鈥檚 core facilities community.听

鈥淲e are thrilled that Joe has agreed to step into this important cross-campus role,鈥 said Karen Regan, associate vice chancellor for research and innovation. 鈥淥ur campus has made excellent progress in this area in recent years and Joe has the strategic mindset, skills and understanding of our cores to build on those advances.鈥

As interim director, Dragavon is focused on leading ongoing core facility-focused events, including administering the Core Facilities Assistance Grant and Voucher Programs, organizing an open house for 精品SM在线影片 cores, and developing recommendations for the operation and growth of 精品SM在线影片鈥檚 research infrastructure.

Dragavon will continue in his current role as director of the BioFrontiers Institute鈥檚 , where he has served as director since August 2014. He has more than ten years of imaging and light detection experience through his doctoral studies at the University of Washington and his five years of postdoctoral research within the Dynamic Imaging Platform (Plate-Forme d鈥橧magerie Dynamique) at the Institut Pasteur in Paris, France.听
