PhD in Drama and Humanities, Stanford University; BA in Philosophy and English Literature, Swarthmore College. CU faculty member since 1992.

Courses taught include THTR 1009: Theatre & Society, THTR 1019: Script Lab, THTR 5011: Theory & Criticism, and THTR 6041: Modern Global Theatre.  Also HUMN 4050: Representations of People with Disabilities.

Research interests include intellectual property law, disability studies, dramatic theory and criticism, modern drama.  Currently studying the history of admission fees and the phenomenon of forcible ejection, i.e., when an attendee is removed from a theatre by physical or police force.

Administrative service includes chair of Theatre and Dance (1999-2003, 2009-10), faculty director of Honors Residential Academic Program (2013-18), and interim director of Humanities Program (2018-20).  Directed the dramaturgy program for the Colorado Shakespeare Festival (1998-2010, intermittent).

Recent publications include 鈥淚, My Stela: Command and Trance in the Procession of Osiris at Abydos鈥 (New England Theatre Journal 2018) and 鈥淭he Introduction of Admission Fees in Tudor London鈥 (Early Theatre, scheduled for publication 2021).

Original plays given full production include Michelin Star (Coal Creek Theater of Louisville 2018, directed by Dan Schock) and Play Therapy (精品SM在线影片 2019, directed by Cecilia Pang).
