Sanjai Bhagat, a professor of finance and economics at the CU-Boulder College of Business and Administration, will address members of the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Youth Justice in Washington, D.C., on Friday, Oct. 10.

Bhagat聮s research on institutional investors will help the federal agencies in their quest to formulate U.S. policy. The FTC is interested in Bhagat聮s findings on anti-trust issues and value gains in takeovers. He will discuss both economic and legal aspects of these and other issues.

Bhagat said he was pleased to learn that the research he is conducting at CU has immediate national implications. 聯It聮s flattering to be asked to speak in Washington,聰 he said. 聯Federal agencies usually have three or four, maybe six, scholars speak to them each year. Those scholars are usually from Harvard, MIT and Stanford, so it聮s nice to be in such good company.聰
