Two Halloween events sure to elicit screams and capture the essence of the season are the 2nd Annual Alpha Tau Omega and Pi Beta Phi Haunted House and the University of Colorado聮s "Museum in the Dark," both set for Friday, Oct. 30.
The two programs are designed for Boulder area youths to provide a safe but festive holiday.
The haunted house will be at the Alpha Tau Omega house, 911 17th St., in Boulder, starting at 7 p.m. on Oct. 30. Hosted by Alpha Tau Omega and Pi Beta Phi, activities will include pumpkin carving and treats passed out by CU students. The haunted house is free and open to the public, and those in attendance are encouraged to wear costumes.
Activities for the museum program include educational presentations, a scavenger hunt, face-painting and crafts projects. The educational nature of the event is meant to demystify the spookiness of Halloween, while teaching about creatures of the natural world.
"Museum in the Dark" also is set for Friday in two one-hour sessions. The first one starts at 5:30 p.m. and the second session will begin at 6:45 p.m.
Reservations are required at the museum event because of its popularity.
Admission is $6 per child; adults and children under two are free. Adults must accompany children.
