Five finalists have been named for the position of dean of the College of Business and Administration at the University of Colorado at Boulder, according to Phil DiStefano, vice chancellor for academic affairs.

The finalists for the position are Michael Ginzberg, Case Western University; Randolph Beatty, Southern Methodist University; Robert Hansen, Dartmouth College; Steven Manaster, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University; and James Henry, Michigan State University.

The first candidate to visit the campus Feb. 23-Feb. 25 is Michael Ginzberg, who currently is associate dean for professional and international programs of the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western. He also is professor of information systems.

Ginzberg's current research and consulting interests focus on organizing and managing information services activities, implementing new information systems and organizational arrangements, the management of technical professionals and technical organizations, and the impact of cultural differences on the deployment of information technology systems.

All of the candidates will meet with university officials, faculty, staff, students and community representatives during their two-day campus visit.

o With classified staff: Wednesday, Feb. 24, 10 a.m.-11 a.m., Business, room 244

o With students: Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2 p.m.-3 p.m., Business, room 244

o With faculty: Wednesday, Feb. 24, 3:15 p.m.-4:30 p.m., Business, room 244

o With professional exempt staff: Thursday, Feb. 25, 9:45 a.m.-10:30 a.m., Business, room 244

The dates for the remaining candidates' visits are still being confirmed. The search committee hopes to have the visits concluded by the end of March.
