New students at the 精品SM在线影片 will be greeted with dozens of activities including a welcome convocation, a Folsom Field pep rally and a 鈥淕lobal Jam鈥 international food and music fest during Week of Welcome beginning Aug. 21.
The free events give new students a chance to get acquainted with each other, the campus and surrounding community before classes start on Aug. 25. The activities are scheduled in addition to orientation sessions that cover the details of class registration, policies and student services at each college.
New students will attend the mandatory convocation on Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. in the Coors Events Center. Students will hear from Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano, faculty, staff and student leaders, and will learn about the meaning and responsibilities of becoming CU-Boulder students.
Immediately following the convocation, attendees will make their way to Global Jam on Farrand Field for international food and live music from noon to 2 p.m. This event is free for all new students with their Buff OneCard.

--Thursday, Aug. 21, from 8:30 鈥 9 p.m., the CU Student Recreation Center, Residence Hall Association and CU Athletics jointly host the 鈥淐U Kickoff鈥 in Folsom Field with an official welcome from student leaders and the Division of Student Affairs, quickly followed by a pep rally featuring CU coaches and the running of Ralphie, CU鈥檚 mascot Chip and the spirit squad.
--Thursday, Aug. 21, from 9 p.m. to midnight, the CU Recreation Center and Residence Hall Association will host 鈥淐onnect @ the Rec,鈥 where students are invited for rock climbing, ice skating, DJ-hosted music by the new Buff pool, live music from Trace Bundy, indoor laser tag and free food.
--Friday, Aug. 22, from 8 p.m. to midnight, students are invited to the 鈥淯MC Welcome Fest鈥 featuring a variety of fun and interactive activities, including miniature golf, improv comedy shows, free bowling at the UMC Connection, live music, food, prizes and a chance to meet Ralphie.
--Saturday, Aug. 23, starting at 5:30 p.m., CU Program Council will present several bands including featured band Kill Paris in concert at Farrand Field for current CU-Boulder students only. A valid Buff OneCard is required to get an admission wristband and there is no re-entry to the concert. Wristbands will be available on Aug. 23 at the Center for Community from 10 a.m. to noon, at the northeast side of Farrand Field from noon to 10 p.m., and at the southwest corner of Farrand Field from 5 to 10 p.m.
--Monday, Aug. 25, from 4 鈥 7 p.m., the Cultural Unity and Engagement Center will host the 21st annual Fall Welcome BBQ on Regent Lawn. New and continuing students are invited to enjoy some Famous Dave鈥檚 BBQ and learn about the Cultural Unity and Engagement Center鈥檚 programs and services. The event is free.
