This weekend, check out a dance film festival, try out for an improv group, catch a football or volleyball game, stop by the CU Gaming open house, take a Hike for Her and more.听

Students gather in the ATLAS lobbyFriday, Sept. 14

Art lovers,听rejoice! This dance-based film series brings together a wide variety of dance styles for the 15th annual premiere weekend. At 7 p.m. in the ATLAS Black Box Theater, the community is invited to attend the film screening complemented with live performances. The event is free, though donations will be accepted at the door.

The CU Gaming club is hosting an open house to welcome potential new members back to campus and show students what they鈥檙e all about. All are welcome to come, play an assortment of games, try VR听and grab a bite to eat with current members. This event is free and runs 5鈥10 p.m. in the ATLAS main lobby.

Join CU鈥檚 brand new improv group at their first round of tryouts. Black Tie Optional is a short-form improv group looking to recruit a team. They will have听open house tryouts in Hale 236 from 6 to 8 p.m.


Saturday, Sept.听15

Come support your fellow Buffs and see Ralphie run at听the home opening game for the fall 2018 football season. The Buffs will take听on New Hampshire. Kickoff is at 3 p.m. at Folsom.

The CU women's volleyball team听takes on CSU in the Rocky Mountain Showdown! For those who wear all black in unity, there will be free food giveaways. The game starts at 8 p.m. in the CU听Events Center.

The international community is invited to听a welcome picnic sponsored by International Student & Scholar Services. Though some food is provided, guests are welcome to bring dishes to share since it will also be a potluck. The event runs 12鈥2 p.m. at .

Andrew Hyde, entrepreneur, innovator听and world traveler, will discuss听topics surrounding 鈥淩ise and Fall鈥 and sharing his life experience听during this TEDxBoulder听event. The event will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. in Macky Auditorium. Doors open at 3 p.m., and ticket prices听vary.

Help spread awareness for ovarian cancer during the Hike for Her event. Twenty thousand American women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year, and money raised from this event will go to the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance. The event will take place at the from 9 a.m.听to noon.

Apply to be an Alternative Breaks site leader

Join a movement of college students who are passionate about engaging in service during college breaks by applying to be an Alternative Break site leader. Site leaders commit to co-leading a group of 10 CU students in service work, during spring break. Applications are due Sept. 19. Learn more about Alternative Breaks.
