Kevin Hines, who attempted suicide听by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge, will speak on campus at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov.听12, in听the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom. Hines, a best-selling author and documentary filmmaker who is best known for his suicide prevention work, is being hosted by the , a 精品SM在线影片 student-led organization.听
Tickets are not required for this free event. Doors will open at 6听p.m.
Additionally, Hines's听诲辞肠耻尘别苍迟补谤测 Suicide: The Ripple Effect听will be shown on campus on Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Visual Arts Complex. The free screening will begin at 6 p.m.
As a suicide prevention and mental health advocate, Hines听has reached millions of people with his inspiring personal story of unlikely survival. At age 19, two years after he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, he attempted to take his life by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. Since then, his听strong will to live and stay mentally well has inspired people worldwide, and his journey to wellness has become a bridge of hope between life and death to others who seek ways to overcome mental pain and suffering.
Hines is听the author of the best-seller Cracked Not Broken: Surviving and Thriving After a Suicide Attempt. He was featured in the acclaimed film The Bridge听and is producing a documentary titled Suicide: The Ripple Effect.
