What you need to know: Calling for help
As a college student, you could find yourself in a situation that you're not sure how to handle. If you're concerned about the health and safety of a fellow Buff, calling for help is always the right thing to do.
- Both CU and Boulder police plan to step up enforcement during this time. This involves the number of officers as well as the frequency of patrol. So be smart, whether you are on campus or in the city.
- One of the biggest offenses they see while on patrol is a minor in possession of alcohol and/or marijuana. Remember, in Colorado, you must be 21 to have alcohol or recreational marijuana. Also, possession includes having ingested or consumed the marijuana or alcohol.
- Be an active bystander. While you are celebrating, if you witness someone who is in a potentially dangerous situation, call 911 for help. If needed, try to subtly remove that person from the situation.
- If you are going to be in the city of Boulder, remember that Boulder Police have an app that they will use to notify you if a serious crime has been committed. To download it, go to your app store and search for Boulder Police.
We hope everyone enjoys this holiday in a safe manner, and we look forward to seeing you back in class on Monday.
