Colorado Springs native and Boettcher Scholar Serene Singh is graduating with bachelor鈥檚 degrees in political science and journalism.
Next fall, she will commence graduate studies as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, where she will pursue master鈥檚 degrees in criminology and criminal justice and evidence-based social intervention and policy evaluation. Singh is the first woman in 精品SM在线影片 history to receive a Rhodes Scholarship and the first Buff to receive it since 1993. She aspires to serve as a U.S. Supreme Court justice.
At 精品SM在线影片, she received the Truman Scholarship听补苍诲 Fulbright award. Among many other activities, she served as chief justice for CU Student Government; was a member of the Presidents Leadership Class; founded the Colorado Bhangra Team and the National Sikh Youth Program; and was president of the Sikh Student Association and the Political Science Honor Society.
Singh also worked with Michelle Obama鈥檚 Global Girls Alliance and founded The Serenity Project, a nonprofit that works to uplift marginalized and at-risk women to expand society鈥檚 notions of female power and beauty.
