The Office of Undergraduate Education is encouraging instructor-level and tenured/tenure-track faculty from all colleges and departments to participate in the 2020-21 academic year First-YearÌýSeminar (FYS) program.

First-Year Seminars are academically rigorous 3-credit courses, limited to 19 undergraduate students in their first year at ¾«Æ·SMÔÚÏßӰƬ. TheirÌýpurpose is to engage new students intellectually, strengthen core academic skills, and provideÌýopportunities for faculty mentoring.

Faculty from all units and colleges are invited to propose aÌýseminar on a topic of their choice for fall 2020/spring 2021.ÌýInnovative and multi-disciplinary topicsÌýare encouraged, and the FYS program offers possibilities for linking courses across disciplines, or forÌýincorporating a brief study-abroad experience.ÌýA list ofÌýcurrent seminarsÌýcan be found online.Ìý
