Taking classes, living and traveling abroad鈥攕ounds expensive, right? It doesn鈥檛 have to be! It鈥檚 possible to have your dream adventure abroad and keep the costs affordable. Here are a few ways you can make it happen.

Affordable programs

Not all programs are in big, international cities like London, Paris or Sydney either, meaning cost of living on some programs can be significantly lower than Boulder. With so many programs available, there鈥檚 a program to fit every student鈥檚 financial needs.

Use financial aid

That鈥檚 right鈥攆inancial aid applies to Education Abroad semester or full-year programs! Any loans, grants听or scholarships you receive from the federal government, the state of Colorado听or from CU will automatically apply to your Education Abroad fee the same as it would for your tuition. If you are a Pell Recipient, some programs even match Pell Grants.

There are many scholarship opportunities for study abroad students. The CU Education Abroad office offers the need-based , and encourages all students going abroad on a CU program to apply. There are lots of other general eligibility scholarships, too, as well as scholarships available for certain majors, certain regions of study, underrepresented students听and more.
